Impact for Families

Increase families’ school connection and develop the knowledge and skills of families to support the education of their children.

During the 2022-23 school year, the program used family event surveys to collect feedback on the following topics: overall satisfaction with the event, how the event helped the parent/family member feel connected to their child and the larger school/community.

Below are the survey results collected during the 2022-23 school year. As mentioned previously, these results are separated by survey instrument (Survey A or Survey B).

Survey A results:

  • 97% of family survey respondents (n=85) indicated that family events helped them learn something new about their students’ school.
  • 98% of family survey respondents (n=85) indicated that family events helped equip them with knowledge to support their students’ success.
  • 93% of family survey respondents (n=82) indicated that family events helped connect them to their child(ren)’s school.
  • 98% of family survey respondents (n=84) indicated that family events helped connect them to their child(ren)’s education.
  • 97% of family survey respondents (n=85) indicated that they would like to see identical or similar events in the coming years.

Survey B results:

  • 88% of family survey respondents (n=91) indicated that they learned new information that is helpful to their child or family.
  • 83% of family survey respondents (n=85) indicated that they feel more prepared to help their child succeed in school.
  • 93% of family survey respondents (n=94) indicated that they would like to see similar topics in the future.

Based on results yielded in Survey A, the 21st CCLC sites are exceeding the 95% satisfaction rate benchmark on four of the five survey items. Survey B results fall slightly short of the 95% satisfaction rate; however, given that this survey instrument is not up-to-date, these results should be interpreted with caution.
