Family Engagement

In 2020-21, the program aimed to offer school year events for parents and adult family members. Meeker and Mill Creek each hosted four events. (More data available)

The program has the goal for adult family members of 80% of regular attendees to attend at least one family event each year. Given the shift to virtual programming and added stressor of COVID-19, engaging with families was difficult and thus the program fell short of engaging at least 80% of adult family members of regular attendees.

With improved data collection in 2020-21, the program was able to connect data more accurately on adult family member attendance to individual students, including those who were regular attendees. The results for 2020-21 are:

  • Overall, adult family members of 41% of regular attendees (20 out of 49) attended at least one family event.
  • At Meeker, adult family members of 44% of regular attendees (11 out of 25) attended at least one family event.
  • At Mill Creek, adult family members of 38% of regular attendees (9 out of 24) attended at least one family event.
