Success For Each Child & Eliminate the Opportunity Gap by Leading with Racial Equity

Family Engagement

During the first year of the grant, each of the sites offered a variety of family activities for program participants and their families. Both East Hill and Springbrook offered five family events, including events specific to the 21st CCLC program and collaboration on schoolwide events:

  • Cultural Celebrations: Mexican Hat Dance, Multicultural Night
  • Recreation: Student Art Celebration, Movie Night – PTA Education
  • Program Celebrations: End of year celebration

The Mexican Hat Dance Celebration at East Hill and Multicultural Night at Springbrook introduced and connected families and youth to different cultural dances, attire, and cuisine.

Table 3 contains more specific details for the 21st CCLC sites’ family events.
