Student Academic Progress
The program has the following objective for student academic growth: 50% of regular attendees will demonstrate progress in math and reading.
To determine student progress in reading and math, the Kent School District provided data from iReady assessments conducted across the district. iReady Growth Measures were aligned to district growth standards. Data definitions and guidance for interpretation were provided to the 21st CCLC local evaluators by the Director of Strategic Initiatives at Kent School District.
Additionally, iReady Relative Levels were to indicate any growth in students’ academic performance (including, for example, students who may not have met “typical” or “stretch” growth goals per the growth measures but did progress in their relative level).
Reading
The Kent Learning Together objective for student growth in reading was for 50% of regular attendees to demonstrate progress. The program, as a whole, met this objective. Sixty percent (60%) of regular attendees met typical growth in 2024-25. At Springbrook, 75% of regular attendees met typical growth. At East Hill, 41% of regular attendees did. (See Table 5.) Compared to 2023-24, the percentage of Kent Learning Together regular attendees who improved met typical growth in reading increased. The percentage increased at Springbrook (from 54% to 75%) and decreased at East Hill (from 56% to 41%).
Table 5: iReady Results: Met Typical or Stretch Growth (Reading)[1]
| Reading | Cohort 19 | East Hill | Springbrook | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Total Number of Regular Attendees | (2024-25) | 121 | 51 | 70 |
| Adjusted Cohort | (2024-25) | 110 | 49 | 61 |
| % who met typical growth | (2024-25) | 60% | 41% | 75% |
| (2023-24) | 54% | 56% | 54% | |
| % who met stretch growth | (2024-25) | 32% | 16% | 44% |
| (2023-24) | 25% | 33% | 22% | |
When considering student progress based on iReady results for students’ relative reading level (e.g., early on grade level, mid or above grade level, 1 grade level below, 2 grade levels below, 3 or more grade levels below), both sites met the objective for students’ improvement in reading. At East Hill, 55% of regular attendees improved, and at Springbrook, 67% of regular attendees improved. For the Kent Learning Together program (as a whole), 62% of regular attendees improved. The percentage of regular attendees who improved in reading increased at both sites from 2023-24. See Table 6.
Table 6: iReady Results - Improved in iReady Levels (Reading)[2]
| Reading | Cohort 19 | East Hill | Springbrook | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Total Number of Regular Attendees | (2024-25) | 121 | 51 | 70 |
| Adjusted Cohort | (2024-25) | 110 | 49 | 61 |

Math
The Kent Learning Together objective for student growth in math was for 50% of regular attendees to demonstrate progress. Using the measure of students meeting typical growth in math, the program (as a whole) did not meet this objective. Forty-six percent (46%) of regular attendees met typical growth in 2024-25. At Springbrook, 62% of regular attendees met typical growth. At East Hill, 27% of regular attendees did. (See Table 7.) Compared to 2023-24, the percentage of Kent Learning Together regular attendees who improved met typical growth in math increased (from 42% to 46%). The percentage increased at Springbrook (from 44% to 62%) and decreased at East Hill (from 39% to 27%). See Table 8.
Table 7: iReady Results: Met Typical or Stretch Growth (Math)[3]
| Math | Cohort 19 | East Hill | Springbrook | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Total Number of Regular Attendees | (2024-25) | 121 | 51 | 70 |
| Adjusted Cohort | (2024-25) | 106 | 48 | 58 |

When considering student progress based on iReady results for students’ relative math level, both sites met the objective for students’ improvement in math. At East Hill, 56% of regular attendees improved, and at Springbrook, 62% of regular attendees improved. For the Kent Learning Together program (as a whole), 59% of regular attendees improved. The percentage of regular attendees who improved in math increased at both sites from 2023-24. See Table 8.

[1] Per the guidance of the Kent School District, students who received percentage scores over 100% in either the iReady typical or stretch growth measure are considered to have “met” growth standards. Note: There were some student records in the Kent School District data request that were missing either a Fall or Spring iReady score. These records were excluded from this analysis and the adjusted cohort was created for these calculations.
