Impact for Families

Kent Learning Together established an objective to strengthen family-school connections for families in the 21st CCLC program, with focus on families furthest from educational opportunity, as follows:

  • Of families who participate in family events, 95% will rate the event positively and feel more connected to their school.

East Hill and Springbrook used family event surveys to collect feedback in several areas: overall satisfaction with the event, and how the event helped the parent/family member feel connected to their child and the larger school/community. 2024-25 results are as follows:

  • Survey results were most positive related to families’ interest in offering identical or similar events in coming years. At East Hill, 100% of respondents (N=21) indicated they would like to see identical or similar events. At Springbrook, 96% of respondents (N=52) responded in this way. Both sites exceeded the 95% benchmark for participant satisfaction based on this question.
  • In other areas, responses were largely positive, but did not meet the objective of 95% of respondents:
    • 81% of East Hill respondents and 90% of Springbrook respondents indicated that family events helped connect them to their child(ren)’s school.
    • 86% of East Hill respondents and 88% of Springbrook respondents indicated that family events connected them to their child(ren)’s education.
    • 80% of East Hill respondents and 79% of Springbrook respondents indicated that family events helped them learn something new about their students’ school.
    • 73% of East Hill respondents and 65% of Springbrook respondents indicated that family events equipped them with knowledge to support their students’ success.
