Impact for Families

Cohort 19 established a goal for the program year 2023-24 of strengthening family-school connection for families in 21st CCLC program, with focus on families furthest from educational opportunity.

  • Of families who participate in family events, 95% will rate the event positively and feel more connected to their school.

During the 2023-24 school year, East Hill and Springbrook used family event surveys to collect feedback on the following topics: overall satisfaction with the event, how the event helped the parent/family member feel connected to their child and the larger school/community. Below are the survey results collected during the 2023-24 school year:

East Hill

  • 100% of family respondents (12/12) indicated that family events helped them feel connected to their child’s education, and that they would like to have events given in the future.
  • 83% of family survey respondents (10/12) indicated that family events helped them learn something new about their students’ school and feel more connected to their child’s school.
  • 75% of family survey respondents (9/12) indicated that family events helped equip them with knowledge to support their students’ success.

Springbrook

  • 93% of family respondents (13/14) indicated that family events helped them feel connected to their child’s education, and that they would like to have events given in the future.
  • 86% of family respondents (12/14) indicated that family events helped them learn something new about their child’s school.
  • 71% of family respondents (10/14) indicated that family events helped them feel more connected to their child’s school.
  • 50% of family respondents (7/14) indicated that family events helped them learn how they can help their child be successful.

East Hill met the 95% satisfaction rate benchmark on two survey questions but did not meet the overall goal. Springbrook did not meet the overall goal.
