Students Served

The 21st CCLC program asserts that regular attendees will exhibit positive trends in academic and social development. Regular attendees are defined as those attending 30 days or more, in total over summer and school-year sessions. Program attendance categories are aligned to the program’s goals and distinguish rates of attendance among regular attendees:

  • Those who attended less than 30 days (not regular attendees)
  • Those who attended 30-59 days (regular attendees)
  • Those who attended 60-89 days (regular attendees with high rates of attendance)
  • Those who attended 90+ days (regular attendees with very high rates of attendance)

Regarding student attendance, the Kent Community Success program’s goals and measurable objectives for students served are as follows:

  • Create a sense of belonging and engagement for students in 21st CCLC program, with focus on students furthest from educational opportunity.
    • 10% of total school population will regularly attend program (i.e., attend 30 days or more).
    • At least 60% of regular attendees will attend program for 60 days or more.
    • Among regular attendees, data will not show differences in regular attendees or 60+ day attendees across race, ethnicity, or MLL groups.

In 2024-25, all sites increased student participation from 2023-24. Student participation at Mill Creek slightly increased (from 352 participants in 2023-24 to 354 in 2024-25), while student participation at River Ridge greatly increased (from 70 participants in 2023-24 to 104 in 2024-25), and decreased at Neely-O’Brien (from 62 participants in 2023-24 to 30 in 2024-25).
