Program Attendance by Student Demographics

The program also has an objective to equal representation of program participants when comparing regular attendees to overall 21st CCLC program participants. The objective states: among regular attendees, data will not show differences in regular attendees or 60+ day attendees across race, ethnicity, or MLL groups.

When comparing regular attendees to the overall Kent Community Success program at each site, results demonstrate that each site served a diverse range of students. When comparing regular attendees to the overall program at each site, differences between all participants and regular attendees range from one percentage point to 13 percentage points. Among those groups with larger differences between participants and regular attendees/students attending 60+ days, the differences are 6-13 percentage points. For example, a higher proportion of students who are Black/African American were regular attendees or attended 60+ days compared to overall participants (34%, 33%, and 22%). Among Hispanic/Latino students, there were lower proportions of regular attendees or participants who attended 60+ days; 36% of participants, 27% of regular attendees, and 24% of those who attended 60+ days. Among multilingual leaner (MLL) students, the differences were similar. MLL students represented 41% of participants, 28% of regular attendees, and 30% of students attending 60+ days. Among other groups (Asian, Multiracial, Native Hawaiian, and White) differences in the proportions of participants compared to regular attendees and students who attended 60+ days are small (1-6 percentage points).
