Impact for Families
During the 2023-24 school year, Mill Creek, Neely-O’Brien and River Ridge used family event surveys to collect feedback on the following topics: overall satisfaction with the event, how the event helped the parent/family member feel connected to their child and the larger school/community and if they would like to have the event again the following school year. Below are the survey results:
Mill Creek
- 100% of family survey respondents (35/35) indicated that they would like to see identical or similar events in the coming years.
- 86% of family survey respondents (30/35) indicated that family events helped them learn something new about their students’ school, equip them with knowledge to support their students’ success, and connected them to their child(ren)’s education.
- 80% of family survey respondents (28/35) indicated that family events helped connect them to their child(ren)’s school.
Neely-O’Brien
- 100% of family survey respondents (4/4) indicated that family events helped them learn something new about their students’ school, helped equip them with knowledge to support their students’ success, helped connect them to their child(ren)’s school, connect them to their child(ren)’s education, and that they would like to see identical or similar events in the coming years.
River Ridge
- 90% of family survey respondents (63/70) indicated that family events helped them feel more connected to their child’s school teachers, principal, afterschool staff, community partners, and other families, and that they would like to have the event the following year.
- 81% of family survey respondents (57/70) indicated that family events helped them connect to their child’s education.
- 78% of family survey respondents (55/70) indicated that family events helped them learn something new about their child’s school.
- 70% of family survey respondents (49/70) indicated that family events helped them learn how they can help their child be successful.
Neely-O’Brien exceeded the 95% satisfaction rate benchmark on all five survey items and Mill Creek exceeded the benchmark on one of the five survey items. River Ridge did not meet the goal benchmark. It is important to note the range of number of participating families in the surveys.
